~ Using Regaine®

Before starting treatment you should first determine whether the type of hair loss you have is hereditary. The typical pattern of hereditary hair loss is a receding hairline at the brow and temples, forming an M shape, followed by the hair on the crown thinning as the hairline recedes further.

While Regaine® is available at your pharmacy without prescription, you may wish to speak to your pharmacist as to whether Regaine® is suitable for you.

Complete treatment information is included in every pack, essentially including:

  • Apply Regaine® twice a day, usually morning and evening, leaving 12 hours between applications.
  • Make sure your hair and scalp are completely dry before applying Regaine®.
  • Apply a 1ml dose of Regaine® to the area of hair loss and massage it gently into the scalp.
  • When applying Regaine® at night, do it about half an hour before you go to bed to allow the solution time to dry.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly after using Regaine®.
  • Don't put anything on your head, such as a hat, before the solution is completely dry and absorbed, as it may stain fabrics.
  • Once Regaine® is dry, comb and style your hair as normal.
  • If you are using Regaine® for the first time, please be sure to read the instructions in the packet thoroughly.

Side Effects
Because Regaine® contains an alcohol base, a few users may experience skin irritation. This problem is usually temporary, but if it continues, stop using the product and seek advice from your pharmacist.

In very rare instances Regaine® can cause other side effects. If you notice anything unusual, seek advice from your pharmacist.
